Lasted Posts: Cooking for Profit’s Napoleon Gas Grill Review: Delicious Food and Easy to Use
This in-depth Napoleon gas propane grill review all started because I love to grill: steak, potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, you name it. I’ve been using a Viking grill for the past few years, but when it finally died on me at the start of grilling season this year I had to stop around for a new one fast. I needed a built-in gas grill, something with a lot of BTU’s and a great deal of reliability. Something I could use for years to come. That’s when I found the Napoleon Prestige PRO 500RISB. It’s got 80,000 BTU’s, sixburners, 900 square inches of cooking area, and it’s made from stainless steel with a polished chrome finish.
Installation
I have a cooking island in my backyard, so instead of the complete, freestanding unit, I only used the best pellet smoker 2020. The Napoleon gas grill felt really nice, not quite as heavy and much less expensive than my old Viking one. I had to enlarge the opening in my outdoor cooking island with a couple of metal tabs, about a half-inch on either side, to hold the grill in place, but once I had them set up, the grill slid right in without any problems. Connecting the gas line was simple and straight forward. If there’s one thing I hate, its pointless delays when I’m ready to grill.
Ignition
The grill has a Jetfire ignition system and it started up right away when I twisted the starter. Unlike electrical starters, mechanical starters never seem to fail. I heard the sparker click and then whoosh! The grill comes with a separate battery charger as well, but I’ve never needed it.
Grilling
Once the grill was warm, I tossed on my steaks and veggies. I liked the fact that the pellet smoker grill gave me enough room and power to ensure everything was cooked quickly and evenly. As much as I loved my old Viking grill, it had some serious drawbacks in this area. I kept finding hot and cold cooking zones when I tried to cook with it. At first I thought I’d just worn out some of the parts, but even after I put in three new burners, it still kept happening.
No problems with flare-ups either, another headache I had with my old grill. Every so often the flames would sprout up and burn the food, but not this time. Everything got just the right amount of char and everyone was happy: me, my family, even the dog, who was begging for scraps with a little more enthusiasm than normal.
